ANNOUNCEMENT:

I decided it's time to retire the screename athenaxchild. Yes. It's strange to think I will be known by any other name after having had this alias for so long (since middle school I think), but it's time to move on and grow up. So henceforth, please look for me on AIM and Xanga as kimsamie. Coz. Yeh. That's my name. Haha. So add me to your buddy lists as kimsamie and from now on, look for my Xanga entries at www.xanga.com/kimsamie.

Thank you.

Love,
Karen

So there is a Toyota ad in the July National Geographic issue:

And lookie where this beautiful campus is located!

Isn't that cool?!

(I love how these places are called campuses. Like EPRI, it's Palo Alto Campus. Hehe.)

This months TGIF at work was about how our water supply and electricity are dependent upon each other. A division of EPRI researches this kind of stuff: how to make water and electricity work better for each other. Isn't that cool?

**EDIT**

OMG. This is TOO HILARIOUS:

"But there is something else that gives Koreans and edge over other would-be cloners, Hwang says. 'As you know, Asian countires use chopsticks, but only the Koreans use steel chopsticks,' he explains. 'The steel ones are the most difficult to use. Very slippery.' I look at him, trying to tell if he's kidding. A lifetime of using steel chopsticks makes Koreans better at manipulating tiny eggs? 'This is not simply a joke,' he says." -Rick Wiess, "The Power to Divide", National Geographic July 2005.

Hell yeah. Those metal chopsticks are tricky!

As for me. I think embryonic stem cell research and development is fascinating and should be pursued for medical advancements and the future of mankind. Yes, moral issues and ethical issues concerning this new field of science is very important, but isn't it rather cowardly to ban it altogether because we are scared of what might happen? It's so trivial when this research could do so much for mankind. Advances aren't made by being cautious. We should be brave, take a firm ethical and moral stand, and drive on with this research. The most important thing is to know where we stand ethically and morally, and then push on without looking back.

**EDIT2**

OMFG. This shit is so funny --> Star Wars Episode III Review.

"We'll all grow up someday, Meg, we might as well know what we want." -Amy March, Little Women

Me, I want to be extraordinary. I want to be an extraordinary scientist and engineer. I want to be an extraordinary woman. I want to do extraordinary things with my life.

It's about pride and confidence, this whole being extraordinary business. One can't be extraordinary without pride and confidence. Pride in who you are, where you come from...Confidence in what you can do and what you are capable of. Ah. And the most important, believing in yourself. It may sound corny and cliche, but you really can't do anything if you don't believe in yourself. A little gong ju byung goes a long way. A little bit of gong ju byung and a good measure of jah jon shim. Heh. Oh and purpose too. You need someone or something precious to fight for.

I think I've found my passion: nature. Now let's see what I do with it.

Happy Friday!

**EDIT**

"It's nuclear engineering, not rocket science." -Saleem

Interesting concept. So what's harder: Rocket Science, Brain Surgery, Nuclear Engineering, or Chemical Engineering?

**EDIT2**

My dinner consists of irradiated chicken tenders, buttermilk ranch, pickles, and OJ. Hehe. It's a sad but comfortable existance. I refuse to learn to cook! Hah!

I am currently hooked to Mae like I was once hooked to Yellowcard. Well I still love Yellowcard, but Mae is great too.

My irradiated chicken is dry.

Congratulations to the Torrance High School Class of 2005.

I LOVE the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. It's bringing me back in touch with the world again.

Yeh. I need to stop drinking soda. Mehehe.

Yay for pictures!

May 2005:

Lil Hojun and Helen.

Me and Hojun.

Me, Shoko, and Eve.

June 2005:

Helen and Shoko. Look's like a freakin' Starbuck's ad...if they did ads. Now that I think about it, they don't do ads do they?! Whoa...I guess all those stores are advertisement enough.

Eve, Me, and Shoko.

Eve and Me.

Biggest dragonfly EVER!

Shoko, Eve, and Me at AMC before MR&MRS.SMITH.

Hehe. I wonder if I can find a 4th grade picture of the three of us...Mehehe. Dang. We look so freakin' grown up now. Old even. Hah. I was always wondering when we would actually look like adults, coz I never felt like I looked like an adult at all, but we're getting there! We don't have our baby faces anymore. But we're still cute dammit!

That's it for now!
